How to play Dominoes

Try Dominoes at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Look at what changes after your first action. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

A useful comparison

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Step by step

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

Controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Check any mode label before starting.

A useful example

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
